eNcephalon - eLearning with Open Source

The eNcephalon project is hosted by the university of applied sciences "FH JOANNEUM", departement Internet technologies and Management in Kapfenberg, Austria. We are about to create a Open Sourve eLearning enviroment for educational purposes. The project team will developement basic material about elearning didactics and technical concepts.

The plattform

eNcephalon is running on Debian Linux, Zope (open source web application server) and for the free portal software Plone. You can use eNcephalon for synchronous and asynchronous eLeaning activities. For instanve, you can run a tutorial via Desktop sharing and Voice over IP Software. Via an integrated Java applet the students are able to see what you are talking about. You can use the portal to discuss activities, usw a text chat or host files like howto´s.

Developement

Zope and Plone are Open Source products and they are very extensible. ...
