CAcert.org Sponsorship Offering
- In order to negotiate a sponsorship, we need to identify Elements that we can offer, and valuations for each of these elements. This page is not an advertising page for our sponsors. It is for internal calculations of values only. Any mention of sponsors is not to be taken as of value for advertising.
Elements
- We have the following elements available for negotiation

- E-Mail Signatures upon choice by CAcert.org Assurers
- Leaflet "CAcert.org - All about" with space for sponsors logos (event ad)
- Leaflet "CAcert.org - Quick Start" with space for sponsors logos (event ad)
- CAP forms ?
- Event Banners (logos and/or text)
- Event Ads in the leaflets for the events
- Co-Branded giveaways, e.g. T-Shirts, Caps, Mugs - Note: production to be paid by sponsor
- Rent-an-Assurer
- Joint Press-Release
- Website Advertising
- Exposure can be global, continental, national.
Package
- Currently, any given package is negotiated separately.
Original Package
- The original deal negotiated by the oophaga team was something like this:
- One logo on main website - 660
- press release / endorsement - 2000
- reference in marketing materials - 1000
- For each of the main sponsors: BT, Sn, Tx.
Package I.
- Proposal for one package for I.c:
CAcert acknowledgement of sponsor's sponsorship as a high value partner and CAcert supporter
CAcert endorsement of sponsor as a preferred host or equivalent
regular promotion and association
As per what the board deems appropriate and of equal value.
- Alternative:
- Logo addition to front website - 660
- Press Release - 2000
- with "endorsement" in PR terms.

- Slides in ATE sequence
- CeBIT if applicable
- The third part could be deferred until the full package is delivered by sponsor.
Valuations
- We can look at the basic sponsorship value as delivered at the moment, and estimate how much it is worth by extrapolating from various metrics:
Supply Side
- Text Ads (main websites)
- Current collect is 50 Euro per month per text link.
- View is that it should be 1000 - 1500 Euros.
- Banner Ads (main website)
- Banner adds are 4x text ads so 660 (guesstimate)
- a logo is just a banner-ad so assume same guesstimate: 660.
- Press release / endorsement
- discussion with marketeers pinned this at 1800 to 2500.
- therefore call it 2000.
- much work to be done later to increase this value
- CeBIT is done every year
- is international in exposure
- booth cost is 1200 / 3m = 400 per square meter
- can support maybe 1 sponsor per square meter
- logo, CAPs/flyers/CCAs/other printed material
- value is 400
1200 was a special deal, default: minimum 6 qm, 650 Euro/qm !!!
special deal was for 2x2 = 4 qm, calc needs to be reviewed (u60)
- ATEs are regional / local
- Cost per ATE is 500-1000: travel, accomodation x 2-3 senior assurers, location
- Audit Spring Tour was direct 1500 for approx 8 events, probably x2 == 3000 including contributions.
- An ATE can support maybe 4-8 sponsors
- each is value 100 per ATE.
- package presentation is 10 ATEs over a year, so ATE representation is value 1000.

This values the total packages for those companies to be around 2-3000 euros. As well as logos, the corporates concerned also got shared press releases, and endorsement in some places. Opinion: Package price should be higher, around 5000 per year.
