Introduction

If you are unable to resolve the matter with your financial institution, you can seek help from the Financial Industry Disputes Resolution Centre Ltd (FIDReC)* if your financial institution is a subscriber of FIDReC.

You should contact FIDReC within 6 months of receiving the final reply from the financial institution.

FIDReC is an independent and impartial institution that provides alternative dispute resolution between consumers and financial institutions. Financial institutions are required to comply with the outcome of FIDReC’s mediation or adjudication. On the other hand, consumers who do not agree with FIDReC’s outcome are not bound by it, and are free to pursue your case through other avenues.

Find out more about the types of claims that FIDReC handles and FIDReC's dispute resolution process. You may also contact FIDReC at 6327 8878 or info@fidrec.com.sg.

If you are unable to resolve the issue at FIDReC, you can consider seeking legal advice on your possible options for recourse. To search for a law firm in Singapore, you can refer to the Legal Services Regulatory Authority or approach the Legal Aid Bureau if you qualify for legal aid.

*For Integrated Shield Plan (IP) claim disputes with insurers that are of a clinical nature, you may consider filing your case under the Clinical Claims Resolution Process (CCRP). The CCRP is a voluntary claims resolution process that provides insurers, doctors, medical institutions and policyholders with an avenue for recourse for issues relating to clinical matters involving IP claims.

If you are unable to resolve the matter through FIDReC, you can consider the following options:
