Education
Currently keepting the CATS test running is the only activity of the Education Team.
As I see it the Education Team consists of only one person. If you also consider yourself part of the team please drop a note at mailto:education@cacert.org
Some numbers from the CATS test, from July 01, 2021 till June 30, 2022:
- A total of 99 Tests have been made during that year, 70 english Assurer Challenges, 27 german ones, one in czech and one english Triage Challenge.
- 52 of all Assurer Challenges have at least 80% correct answers and are therefor counted as passed
- 23 different users (that is, different certificates used to login) have passed the test at least once
- 5 users tried the test at least once but don't have a successful test recorded
- On the average those who passed the test had about one and a half (more exactly: 1.52) unseccessful tries before passing.

Infrastructure
Jan Dittberner kept the infrastructure systems working. Thanks to Monitoring, Puppet and a bit of Ansible this was doable. We setup a few new containers to prepare the OpenID Connect deployment and a new Gitea instance at https://code.cacert.org/. Jan debugged the Wiki performance and could resolve blocked requests by fixing the mail setup on the Wiki system.
The Gitea instance has already been used to provide the new Go based OCSP responder code for ocsp.cacert.org as well as for a new release of the cacert-boardvoting system running on https://motion.cacert.org/. Jan plans to move more repositories from git.cacert.org to the new Gitea instance.
We upgraded all containers on infra03 to Debian 11 and work on an upgrade of the containers on infra02 as well. A first major step was a change of the attachment storage of the support system from database to filesystem storage in a joint effort of Jan and Dirk.
Dirk and Jan are discussing ideas for a hardware refresh/replacement for infrastructure systems.
Together with Dirk Astrath we work on defining a new Git based process for deploying DNS changes. (JanDD)
